Punjabi Food Festival @Nook Aloft Bengaluru

Punjab has always been identified as a land of gastronomical expedition. I first tasted some of the best kulchas, curries and lassi the authentic punjabi cuisine during my visit to Delhi. I've personally never been to Punjab, someday I would love to explore more. When Aloft wanted to host us for the punjabi food festival, I was so thrilled to savor authentic punjabi food at Bengaluru.

The entire experience was authentic and truly thought over. Mr.Sodhi the man behind "Sodhi da dhaba" Punjab had created a scrumptious menu, which included specially-crafted delicious non-vegetarian dishes like  Bhatti Da Kukkad, Saag Meat and Machli Amritsari

Vegetarians can relish upon Sarson Ka Saag, Channa cholle, Aloo kulchas and much more to give the foodies an ultimate gastronomic pleasure, each and every Ingredient was carefully chosen and shipped from Punjab, specially for this food festival.

The carefully crafted menu comprised traditional spice laced food, succulently created from fresh ingredients, keeping in mind a healthy nutritional balance, and preserving the wholesome goodness from punjab to our plate.

We started our meal with kesar lassi (thick sweetened buttermilk with nuts and saffron) was quite refreshing and tasty ultimately I ended up drinking 4 glasses of lassi...I guess I was lot thirsty that day...:P

Bhatti Da Kukkad  chunks of chicken marinated, with secret spices and hung curd, then grilled in a traditional coal oven(tandoor) was succulent, and very juicy. The blend of spices were perfect not over powering.

Machli Amritsari a batter fried fish...this fried fish was prepared with basa, was buttery and crispy, tasted real good with a traditional raw onion tomato..tangy chutney.

Gobi Kurkure batter fried cauliflower florets, served with mint chutney...I created a crunchy roll with naan crispy veggie and chutney taste was good. I would've liked it bit more spicy...

Dhal ki Papad

Butter Naan
Keema Kulcha spicy minced meat stuffed in to a whole wheat bread, baked on coals, was crispy and soft, any thing served with a dollop of butter is always yummy...

Aloo Kulcha, Bhakri Roti and Keema Kulcha...

Sarson Ka Saag, Channa Cholle, Punjabi kadhi... I truly enjoyed sarson ka saag which is prepared with mustard leaves, and palak(spinach), the gravy is then spiced and tempered with pungent mustard oil, this gravy compliments many breads, specially served with corn bread. These were good selection of gravies for vegetarians.

Tariwala Murgh

Mutton Saag

We ended our main course with butter naan mutton saag and murgh tariwala...

For Desserts we had Gulab jamun, Moong Dhal Ki Halwa, and RasMalai...

We were so engrossed in conversations with our lovely host Prapti. I finally completed my meal with Cappuccino...

Aloft truly captured and treated us with the traditional flavors and taste of punjab...
